Switzerland, Norway, and the United States held on to their top three positions through the remaining runs of the men’s alpine downhill competition. Switzerland’s Didier Defago took gold with a time of 1:54.31 and a measured speed of 117.2 km/h at the second of two speed points. In second, Norway’s Askel Lund Svindal was +0.07 slower, bumping United State’s Bode Miller into third (+0.09), and Canada’s Erik Guay into fifth. Canada’s Manuel Osborne-Paradis was 17th.
