A great Canadian, a great westerner, a great man
You might hear some say that Jack Poole was denied his greatest moment, to stand beneath a worldwide spotlight when the Olympic cauldron is lit in Vancouver. With a mere 113 days to go before the 2010 Games begin in his hometown, the man who steered the Olympics back to Canada succumbed to the cancer he had been battling for more than two years.
